Okojo Privacy Policy

The operator of Okojo (“we,” “us,” or the “Operator”) establishes this Privacy Policy regarding the handling of information in the macOS application Okojo (“the App”).
1. About the App
Okojo is a read-only application for viewing Markdown, text, and CSV files.
The App does not provide functionality for editing or saving changes to the contents of those files.
2. Files Opened in the App
Files opened in the App are generally processed locally on the user’s Mac.
We do not collect, store on our servers, or transmit to our servers the contents of files opened in the App.
The App primarily supports the following file types:
- Markdown files (.md, .markdown)
- Text files (.txt, .text)
- CSV files (.csv)
3. Information Stored on the Mac
The App may store the following information locally on the user’s Mac:
- Names of recently opened files
- File types
- Information concerning file locations
- Date and time a file was last opened
- Reading position
- Security Scoped Bookmarks used to reopen files
- Display settings, including theme, font, and text size
- Other settings required for the operation of the App
This information is generally stored locally and is not transmitted to us.
Users can remove individual or all entries from the recent files list within the App.
4. Accounts, Advertising, and Analytics
The App does not require account registration.
The current version of the App does not include:
- Advertising
- User tracking
- Behaviorally targeted advertising
- Usage analytics operated by us
- Automatic crash-report collection operated by us
The App does not collect advertising identifiers.
5. External Images and Links
If a Markdown file references an image hosted on the internet, the App may connect to an external server to display that image.
The external server may receive an IP address, access time, and general information about the browser or network environment. Such information is handled according to the privacy policy of the external service providing the image.
When a user selects a web link contained in a Markdown file, the link opens in an external application, such as the Mac’s default web browser.
Please review the privacy policy of each external website or service.
6. Contact Form
We use Google Forms to receive:
- General inquiries
- Problem reports
- Feature requests
The form may collect information voluntarily entered by the user, including:
- Inquiry type
- Inquiry, problem report, or feature request details
- Okojo version
- macOS version
- Diagnostic information voluntarily pasted by the user
- Email address, if the user requests a reply
- Other information voluntarily entered by the user
Providing an email address is optional.
Diagnostic information generated by the App’s “Copy Diagnostics” feature generally does not include:
- Names of opened files
- File locations or paths
- File contents
- Recent file history
- Mac user names
- Device-specific identifiers
Users should not enter file contents, file paths, passwords, unnecessary personal information, or confidential information in the form.
The form is provided through Google Forms, a service operated by Google LLC. Information entered into the form is processed and stored through Google’s systems.

7. Purposes of Use
Information submitted through the contact form may be used to:
- Respond to inquiries
- Investigate and fix problems
- Improve the quality of the App
- Consider new features and improvements
- Request additional information from users
- Prevent abuse or spam
- Safely provide and operate the App
We do not use submitted information for advertising or unrelated marketing.
8. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not disclose personal information submitted through the form to third parties except:
- With the user’s consent
- When required by law
- When necessary to protect life, physical safety, or property
- When processing is entrusted to an appropriate service provider as necessary to operate or support the App
When an external service such as Google Forms is used, information may be processed by that service provider.
9. Retention
We retain submitted information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, investigate problems, improve quality, and consider features.
Information that is no longer required will be deleted within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law or for legitimate operational purposes.
10. Deletion Requests
Users may request deletion of personal information submitted through the contact form.
To request deletion, select “General Inquiry” in the Okojo Contact & Feedback Form and explain that you would like your information deleted.
We may ask for the approximate submission date, subject, or email address to identify the relevant response.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect submitted information against unauthorized access, loss, disclosure, or alteration.
However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Children
If a minor submits a name, email address, or other personal information through the contact form, they should obtain parental or guardian consent where appropriate.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy due to changes in the App, services used by the App, or applicable laws.
Material changes will be announced through the App, support page, or this page.
The revised Privacy Policy becomes effective when published on this page.
